OUR ETHOS
Having someone take some pictures of you, your loved ones, your pets, your event, your birthday party, or your products shouldn’t be complicated, and yet, in today’s market, it seems it is. Here at Phill Smith Photography, we want to take it back to being fuss-free.
We don’t believe in holding our images to ransom in return for ridiculous printed images pricing. Many people are afraid to book photography sessions because of the hidden and potentially high costs involved. We want to change that.
OUR SHOOTS
Our photoshoots are laid back, informal and not overly-staged, so you feel at ease, and we can capture more natural, candid shots. We offer on-location shoots only; you tell us where you’d like them done and we’ll be there. Whether that be at home, at your parent’s house, at the park, or in an abandoned warehouse; wherever you feel comfortable, that’s where we’ll take the best images.
Don’t worry about making your home ‘photo perfect’ either; we’re there to capture the awesomeness of the people there, NOT your home. We’re all busy people, living busy lives; having a show home ready for a photoshoot doesn’t fit into that at all!
All of our staff are fully DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) government checked for your peace of mind.
OUR PACKAGES
You should be able to enjoy your images and print and use them personally as you wish. That’s why all of our packages include the price of digital images that you can download from an online album we’ll set up for you. We also provide a personal use photo release with every package, meaning you are free to print, copy, or share the images as you wish.
All our packages can be tweaked if they are not quite right for you, or we can put together a package based purely on what you’re looking for. We also offer bespoke photography packages for weddings, baby showers, product photography, sports photography, and team photos/headshot/portrait photographs. ABOUT ME...PHILLIP SMITH
I’m Phill, (yes, spelled with a double ‘l’! Phill Jupitus and I are the only ones who spell it right) I love what I do. I love the huge variety of personalities I meet, spotting and capturing those special moments in time, and hearing my clients when they are over the moon with their shots. My graphic design background also means I actually enjoy the very lengthy editing process (yes, I’m a bit of a geek!).
I share my days with my crazy little family; my beautiful, happy, LOL loving fire-haired daughter; my ridiculously intelligent, ever over-logical, YouTube obsessed long-haired stepdaughter, and my furiously camera-phobic, rainbow-haired wife. They are awesome, and funny, and certainly keep me on my toes. And yes, they all have much more interesting hair than I do.
My evenings are either spent graphic-designing, photographing, toy-fighting, dressing LOL dolls, or explaining for the 3,145,201st time that vegetables are a vital source, and there will be no pudding if they’re not eaten.
This is typically followed by the late night that inevitably happens when you hit ‘Next Episode’ three times more than you should have done had you been a responsible grown up.
As a photographer, I like to think I’m a laid back, friendly and approachable chap (I’ve just checked with the wife, and she said I am, so it must be true!), but I have very little interest in taking centre stage. I love to let people do what they do, laugh as they laugh, and play as they play; it’s the only way to truly capture the personality behind the image.
I work hard to be unobtrusive on shoots; no-one wants a 6 foot 2 inch photographer and his huge lens all up in their face. I just let you be you, in all your wonder and awe.
